New Glasses: Seeing with More Than Just Your Eyes

For years, I’ve worn the wrong prescription glasses.
The lenses were scratched, the nose piece had fallen off, and one lens would fall out if I tilted my head the wrong way. But because I mostly wear contact lenses, getting new glasses never felt like a priority. I could get by - squinting through the blur, adjusting my expectations, and tolerating the wonkiness.
Until I finally replaced them!
The moment I slipped the new glasses on, I was stunned. The world sharpened. Edges crisp. Colours vibrant. Everything that had been dulled or distorted suddenly burst into brilliant focus.
It wasn’t just better vision. It was clarity. And that’s when it struck me...
This is exactly what happens when we reconnect with our intuition.
It's easy to become complacent and walk through life with outdated “lenses” - distorted beliefs, unconscious habits, toxic dynamics, and noisy external narratives that cloud our inner vision.
We learn to cope with the blur. We tell ourselves, “This is just the way things are.” We ignore the misalignment - in relationships, in decisions, in our body’s signals - because we’re so used to not seeing clearly or sometimes it's all we've known.
But the moment we tune back in or step out of our comfort zone…
The moment we get still, get present, and really listen…
The clarity returns.
Enter Firewalking.
That’s one of the reasons I love firewalking and other experiential empowerment activities so deeply.
When you stand barefoot at the edge of glowing coals, the mind chatter drops away. You're not overthinking or performing - you're present. You drop into your body. You connect to something ancient, instinctive, deeply intuitive. That’s when people often hear their inner voice again - loud and clear.
You cannot walk on fire from your head.
You walk with your soul.
Experiential activities like firewalking, strip away the noise. You then carry this clarity into you're your daily life and decisions you’ve been avoiding suddenly become obvious.
You realise who is draining your energy and who lights you up.
You feel the "no" that needs to be said.
You sense the path forward - even if it’s not fully mapped out yet.

Back to my new glasses…
I’m still adjusting to them, to be honest. I keep trying to take them off when I look at my phone, forgetting that I can actually see with these ones.
It’s comical.
It's also a metaphor. (Life loves a good metaphor.)
Because how often do we do the same thing with our intuition?
We finally start seeing clearly…
And still reach for our old ways of seeing.
Old habits. Old fears. Old distortions.
But once you’ve truly seen - with your heart, with your body, with your soul - you don’t want to go back.
So, here’s what I’ve learned:
If life feels foggy right now - maybe, it’s just time to update your inner lenses.
Get still.
Get present.
Listen deeply.
Your clarity is waiting.
And when you truly see - everything shifts.
You stop second-guessing.
You set stronger boundaries.
You make decisions that honour who you really are.
You walk away from what no longer serves - with no drama, no guilt. Just grace and truth.
Because seeing clearly…
Changes everything.
